Jumhooree Party (JP) leader Qasim Ibrahim’s wife Aishath Nahula’s home 'Kethi' in her native island HA. Hoarafushi has been vandalized with engine oil.
A source told VNews that Aisha’s house was doused is engine oil sometime early Sunday morning.
Although it is not clear who committed this crime, it is most likely politically motivated, the source said.
Speaking regarding the incident, JP’s Chief Spokesperson Ali Solih said Aisha’s house was attacked with oil to threaten and scare her, and to stop her when she bravely joined the reform work.
He further said that no matter how much they attempt to obstruct her from going forward, she will not stop working to defeat President Yameen in the upcoming elections.
The incident comes after Aisha carried out special campaign events for opposition alliance’s presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and running mate Faisal Naseem, and strongly criticized the current government’s actions.
