
The opposition alliance’s running mate Faisal Naseem has returned to Male’ on Monday after concluding the campaign trip to India.
Faisal travelled to India last Saturday and returned after concluding the two-day trip on Monday morning.
Faisal was accompanied by the deputy of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s Chairperson Ali Niyaz, Jumhooree Party (JP)’s vice president Abdulla Mausoom and Aminath Naadhira from Maumoon Reform Movement.
Faisal visited Maldivian patients admitted at Ananthapuri Hospital, known for treatment of cancer and other major illnesses, met their families and asked about the health of the sick.
Faisal also visited the homes of Maldivian families living in Thiruvananthapuram and inquired about their health and wellbeing.
The trip is a campaign trip to garner support for the opposition in the upcoming presidential election.
While the opposition has strengthened their campaign activities, opposition presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is currently in Huvadhu Atoll on a campaign trip.
