Jumhooree Party (JP) leader Qasim Ibrahim’s wife Aishath Nahula has begun a campaign trip in AA. Atoll to garner support for opposition alliance’s presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and running mate Faisal Naseem.
The first stop of the trip, which began on Thursday, was Himandhoo. She was warmly welcomed by the supporters gathered at the island harbor for her arrival.
Speaking to the people of Himandhoo, Aisha said that the upcoming days will be happy and joyous days. She requested them to vote for opposition presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in order to achieve this.
Aisha said that the Maldivian people only desire to breathe freely and live with their families in liberation. This can only be achieved by voting for the opposition presidential candidate. An opposition government will enquire the needs of the people of Himandhoo and will work to fulfil their needs while ensuring they are given their religious rights, she said.
She will also be travelling to Maalhos, Feridhoo, Mathiveri and Bodufulhadhoo today and will be travelling to Ukulhas, Rasdhoo and Thoddoo on Friday.
