The biggest sports festival of its kind in the country, “Dhulhaheyo Hashiheyo Eid” has concluded with a football match between the politicians.
The second day of the festival kicked off with special football matches. The captains of the opposing teams during the politicians match were President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Speaker of Parliament and Jumhooree Party (JP) leader Qasim Ibrahim.
The first match was played between the Under-19 men’s team followed by a match between Under-19 women’s team and the senior women’s team. The third match was between the veterans and the fourth match was played between legends Over-50.
The concluding match was between the politicians in the country, including former and current presidents, political leaders and other politicians.
Many opposition alliance members and MPs participated in the 20-minute match played between the politicians.
While the second day was marked with football matches, the first day of the festival saw all types of sports carried out within the capital. These included watersports, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, swimming, fitness events and others.
This is the first and biggest such festival opened to the public.
