Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), on Saturday, introduced special motorbikes to be used by firefighters.
The motorbikes were introduced during the ongoing “Jarraf 2018” training program conducted by the military. The training is targeted for MNDF’s Fire and Rescue firefighters.
Speaking at the ceremony held in front of MNDF’s military clinic to unveil the motorbikes, Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam said it is vital to identify possible causes of fire and take precautions.
He said motorbikes can aid firefighters reach a scene of fire quickly as Male’ is extremely congested.
During the ceremony, firefighters showed a demonstration of how the motorbikes can be used in case of a fire, by torching a car and demonstrating how the bike swiftly and efficiently extinguished the flames.
