Health Protection Agency has stated that there has been no decline in the number of dengue cases being reported.
According to a statement released by HPA, while the cases of dengue reportings have not declined, there have been a few reports of chikungunya cases as well.
HPA also advised to rid properties of spots that may help incubate and reproduce mosquitoes responsible for dengue and chikungunya.
They added that prevention is always better than cure, which is why the public must conform to their social responsibilities as efficiently as possible in destroying habitats that may lead to the population growth of these parasites.
While the cases of dengue and chikungunya being reported are at a rise, a number of students from Feeali School were identified positive for dengue, with some of them requiring critical care for which they were transported to Male'. Due to the situation then, Feeali School was also closed indefinitely.
