The Radiology Department in Hulhumale’ Hospital has begun providing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) service on Sunday.
The Radiology Department of Hulhumale' Hospital, which provides 24-hour service, was inaugurated by health minister Abdulla Ameen today.
According to the hospital, the services available in their Radiology Department now include MRI scanning, Ultra Sound scanning and X-Ray imaging. Although only MRI service has been initiated on Sunday, other services such as mammography and Computerized Tomography (CT) scanning will soon be provided at the hospital as well, the hospital informed.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, acting head of Hulhumale’ Hospital Naahidha Hameed stated that the MRI machine had been kept in the hospital for some time although services were not initiated. The hospital had also been receiving complaints regarding the issue, she said.
Hulhumale’ Hospital has seen vast improvement since its establishment 15 years ago. The hospital initially provided service for eight hours, however it has successfully transformed into a 24-hour service provider.
