B. Kendhoo Council reports that dengue fever is swiftly spreading in the island.

However, they are not in serious condition, he informed.
He further stated that fogging is being carried out daily in the island to kill mosquitos which spread the dengue virus.
The council has also advised the people to wear clothes that cover their entire bodies when going out. They have also been advised people not to step out unless necessary and to be extra cautious regarding hygiene and to use mosquito repellants as a precautionary step, he said.
