Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA)'s "Heyvalla - Saafukurama" team has undertaken cleaning the Villimale beach area on Saturday.
MIRA says that 175 of their employees took part in the cleanup held this morning.
The team cleaned out a large area from Villimale' beach, filling up almost 200 bags with the trash.
During the inauguration of today's activities, Commissioner General of Taxation Yazeed Mohamed explained that the Heyvalla - Saafukurama program is under a larger venture to assume Corporate Social Responsibility.
He also commented that MIRA employees have always been enthusiastic to take initiative in doing social work, pointing out that the employee club has organized similar programs in the past.
Yazeed also thanked Male City Council, WAMCO, and Villimale' Police Station for their help received in the cleanup.
The Heyvalla - Saafukurama Program has cleaned areas in Male' and Hulhumale' in previous years.
