Fisheries Ministry announces a development project of a hatchery in GA. Maanaagalaa.
Fisheries minister Zahaa Waheed made the announcement during the Jazeera Holhuashi session, which was held on Friday night at GDh. Thinadhoo. During the session, she also revealed preparations of a centre in K. Maniyafushi to be used for fisheries training.
According to the minister, the World Bank is aiding in the hatchery's development project. The establishment is set to prioritize cultivation of Grouper Fishes and Sea Cucumbers, which are considered to be of high value.
It is noteworthy that the previous administration carried out a similar initiative in V. Bodumohiraa.
However, the government has not disclosed any details of these projects.
