Maldives National University (MNU) has announced vacancies for Council members for the university council.
Interested individuals can submit their letter of interest and resume for the 8 categories announced before 2 p.m. next Thursday.
MNU is reassembling their council in accordance with the amendment to the National University Act that was passed in the Parliament this month. The amendment, put into effect on August 5, mandates the council to be assembled within 30 days of its implementation.
Dr. Hassam Hameed was appointed as the Chancellor of the University, and Dr. Mohamed Shareef as the Vice Chancellor on August 22, also in accordance with the amendment to the act.
MNU's Council will consist of 19 members, of which 8 members will be appointed by the Minister of Higher Education. There will also be two members appointed on account of their position, and one member appointed for a set period of time contingent on the council's decision.
Maldives National University's Council will manage and control the university, as well as establish and disestablish colleges, faculties, centers, schools, divisions, and institutions to reach administrative and educational goals.
