Malaysia’s PDRM team player and Maldives National Team Captain Ali Ashfaq (Dhangadey) has begun practice with the Malaysian team that is set to go up against Tottenham.
The Malaysian team players for the match were chosen from players in the Malaysian League. The match will be on 27th this month in Malaysia’s Capital, Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia’s National Team Coach Dollah bin Salleh previously expressed his wish to give Dhangadey the opportunity to play against Tottenham.
Dhangadey’s official Facebook Page said yesterday that they were in Petaling Jaya Hilton in order to prepare for the match.
Dhangadey was one of the five foreign players chosen for the team. Minister of Youth and Sports Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal said that they are working on broadcasting the match live on TVM.
Dhangadey played an important role in promoting PDRM in the first division after becoming champions of the second division last year. His contribution is also evident in PDRM reaching the quarter finals in Malaysia’s FA Cup, and also in reaching the Malaysia Cup semi-finals.
Dhangadey, who has scored 22 goals for PDRM last season, has renewed his contract with the team for another two years.
