A patient positive for swine flu died while getting treatment in Male’ on Sunday.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) confirmed the death of a man, though they did not disclose any details.
An official of Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) said that a 46-year-old Bangladesh man died while being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The official said the Bangladesh man was brought to IGMH from HDh. Kulhudhuffushi on Saturday. He tested positive for H1N1.
Two Maldivians have died so far in the flu.
Of the 411 people tested for H1N1, 147 tested positive and 24 are currently admitted for treatment.
