Maziya Sports and Recreation lost the match played in the Maldives, 0-1 to Bangaluru FC on Tuesday.
Both teams displayed brilliant play in the match played at the National Stadium. Mohamed Umair of Maziya got an excellent opportunity to score during the first half of the match. However he lost control of the ball and was unable to score.
While Maziya played a defensive game in the second half, the only goal of the match was scored in the last minute of the extra time by Bengaluru FC player, John Johnson.
With the goal on Tuesday’s match, Bangaluru FC is in the first place of the group with six points. Maziya is in second place with three points and Mohan Bagan of India in the third place without any point. Dhaka Abahany of Bangladesh is at the bottom of the group.
Both Bangaluru and Maziya won their first matches in the tournament. Maziya won against Dhaka Abahany, 2-0, while Bengaluru won against Mohan Bagan by 2-1.
