Allied Insurance Company presented TfG with a special personal insurance package that covers participants of Coca-Cola Long Run 2017.
Allied is the insurance partner of the race taking place at Hulhumale on Friday, for the fourth time.
At a special ceremony held at Allied’s cooperate office on Thursday, the company’s General Manager Ahmed Riyazi Mohamed handed the policy titled ‘Group Personal Accident’ (GPA) to TfG. TfG’s CEO Hussain Zinan accepted the policy on TfG’s behalf.
A total of 804 runners participated in five categories of the Long Run this year. Allied’s GPA policy will cover any participants who suffer an injury while running resulting in permanent disability or any participant who receives medical treatment for injury while running in the race. The package will also cover the death of a participant while participating in the race.
The four categories of the event, initiated in 2013, include full-marathon, half-marathon, ten k and five k.
The marathon starts at 3:20 a.m. on Friday followed by the half-marathon at 6:20 a.m. The ten k race begins at 7:20 a.m. while the five k follows an hour later at 8:20 a.m.
