The Velana International Airport’s domestic ferry terminal will be closed starting on Sunday.
Maldives Airport Company Ltd (MACL) said they have decided to close down different parts of the airport for development.
MACL said the ferry service will be moved to the airport’s international terminal.
Velana airport’s development project began on February 27 with the development of a runway. A USD 373 million loan was taken from Exim Bank of China to develop the second runway.
The project costing USD 800 million will see the development of a new runway, apron, fuel farm, cargo area, and a passenger terminal.
