The national football team is set to travel to Dubai for friendly matches in preparation for the Bhutan match in the Asian Cup Qualifying.
Maldives team will face Afghanistan team on July 6. The team will then complete a training camp in Thailand and compete against Bhutan on July 13.
The 27-player squad includes many new players such as eight players from Maziya Sports Club and Recreation, six from New Radiant, two from Club Valencia, three from TC Sports Club, four from Club Eagles, two from Victory Sports Club and two from Club Green Street.
Maldives lost their first match in the Asian Cup Qualifying to Palestine, 0-3. Oman won against Bhutan by an incredible score of 14-0. Oman and Palestine both have six points, although Oman is in the lead by goal difference.
The two teams with the most points will qualify for the Asian Cup Qualifying held in UAE in 2018.
