Housing Development Corporation (HDC) announced the installation of parking systems in Hulhumale’, similar to the ones being installed in Male’.
The announcement made by HDC states they are looking for interested parties to supply and install vertical parking systems at nine locations in Hulhumale’.
Each parking system should be able to withhold 2500 kilograms, and should be able to park 30 – 35 cars and jeeps.
Each system should operate automatically, should be relatively quiet, should operate for a long period without needing to be repaired and should be able to expel vehicles within a few minutes.
Interested parties should send their bid to HDC head office before 2:00 p.m. on July 12.
A Bid Security of USD 100,000.00 should be kept in the form of a Bank Guarantee from either a Bank or a Financial Institute.
Last year November, Housing minister Dr. Mohamed Miuzz had said, ten similar systems for cars and ten systems for motorbikes would be installed in Male’. The first system would be installed and begin operating in March, he had said.
However only one system has been installed in Male’ so far, and although it had been tested, ti is yet to begin operating.
