Dhidhdhoo MP Abdul Latheef Mohamed has said that he does not know whether the government is being run by a man or a woman, and that a married couple is not capable of running the government alone.
Speaking on VTV, MP Latheef said the government has lost direction, and that it needs to lose its hard-headedness.
He said that everyone who helped bring the current administration to power is leaving, and that the government cannot be ruled by only one man or woman or even a married couple.
He claimed that the government and government institutions, instead of doing work for constituencies by working with MPs, have been using the Sadaqat Foundation, which is run by First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim.
This has been greatly concerning the MPs, he added.
He also claimed that there are still many members of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) who are ready to leave.
He said that he had to leave the current administration due to its authoritarianism, and that every PPM member that leaves does not do so for money.
