Allied opposition is set to resume their reform efforts on Saturday night after taking a break for Eid.
The opposition is scheduled to hold a rally at Jumhooree Party (JP)’s head office M. Kunooz, at 9:15 p.m.
Former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, who is the only one free among four opposition leaders, will address the rally. All others have been sentenced on criminal charges. Former President Mohamed Nasheed is living in the UK in exile while Adhaalath Party’s leader Imran Abdulla is serving time in prison and JP leader Qasim Ibrahim is currently in Singapore after getting medical release.
The four leaders singed a pledge in March this year to work together for reform and to hold government accountable.
According to the allied opposition, starting from Saturday, their activities will be held every night.
