Police service has decided to dismiss or demote some senior police officers.
A source told VNews that the disciplinary board has decided to take action against some officers, including Chief Superintendent Mohamed Riyaz, another chief superintendent, and two assistant police commissioners.
VNews asked police spokesperson Ahmed Shifan to confirm the news, but he replied that such information cannot be officially disclosed to the media.
VNews also called some of the officers to be disciplined, but the calls went unanswered.
South-Galolhu MP Ahmed Mahloof has claimed on Twitter that the disciplinary board has decided to dismiss Chief Superintendent Riyaz.
