Three were injured on Tuesday morning after a blast at Maldives Ports Limited (MPL)’s Male’ commercial harbor.
Police have said that the incident occurred while workers were using a gas cutting torch on an oil tank.
The victims are currently being treated at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, but VNews has been unable to get a word from the hospital.
An earlier accident also occurred at the harbor in which an employee was injured after a storage container rolled onto him, crushing his leg.
The victim’s leg was later amputated in India.
Other accidents have occurred at the harbor, injuring some and killing others.
