The Government of Maldives inaugurated a special committee to head the events under the “Maldivians with Rohingya Muslims” Campaign on Sunday.
In addition to the accounts at BML and MIB, the committee is working to facilitate donations via mobile phone, and a special hotline (number: 1440) has also been established under the project.
Other events include a telethon scheduled for September 21 to 23, in collaboration with the media.
More than 370,000 Rohingya have fled to Bangladesh since August 25, seeking refuge from the persecution carried out by the Buddhist and military in Myanmar.
