Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has issued a ban on batch 447 of Life mineral water, produced by Happy Mart.
In a statement issued on Monday, MFDA said “Life” brand’s 500ml (batch 447, manufactured on 3rd October 2017) water bottles were banned due to black fragments found inside some of them.
MFDA stated that any such substance found inside sealed mineral water bottles violates the standards issued by World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Food Standard (Codex).
When contacted regarding the matter, Happy Mart said they are working to release a press statement regarding the issue.
The batch numbers on Life water bottles are written below the manufacture date in black, above the label on the bottle.
Life mineral water is a famous brand manufactured, packed and sold in the Maldives.
