Former Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed Riyaz has signed for Jumhooree Party (JP) on Tuesday.
At a special ceremony held at JP’s main office M. Kunooz on Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Riyaz handed in his membership form to the party’s deputy leader Abdulla Riyaz.
JP’s deputy leader warmly welcomed Dr. Riyaz on behalf of the party’s leader Qasim Ibrahim.
Since JP recently focused special attention on developing the party, many notable individuals working in various fields have been joining the party. These include former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed, who joined the party recently.
Dr. Jameel signed for JP on February 10, at a special ceremony held at Frankfurt, Germany in the presence of JP’s leader Qasim Ibrahim who is currently at the country.
Others including former youth minister Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal and former minister at the President’s Office, Abdulla Ameen, former state minister at defence ministry, Mohamed Ahmed Manik, and Dr. Shah Mahir, who worked as a medical doctor for MNDF, also joined JP at the ceremony.
