Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) says Maldives will experience hot weather throughout the month of April.
Speaking to VNews, an official of met office said, similar to the previous year, Maldives will experience the hottest weather from March to April. While the region is experiencing light winds, the hot weather is due to the changing seasons.
“Surface winds will be light and variable at 3 to 8 miles per hour and seas are expected to be slight throughout the country”, the official said.
The official further said central islands, Addu City and Kaadehdhoo are at 31 degrees Celsius, while Hanimaadhoo and Kahdhoo are at 32 and 33 degree Celsius respectively.
Met Office cautioned people to be alert to the hot weather and take necessary measures to prevent injury.
Statistics show that throughout the world people have died due to extreme heat.
According to World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the hottest weather ever to have been recorded occurred in 2016, with an average increase of 1.1 degree Celsius throughout the world.
Meanwhile scientists have attributed Global Warming to the negative actions of people.
