Jailed former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom was brought to Male’ for optical care on Tuesday.
Gayoom was consulted to an ophthalmologist at Vision Opticals on Fareedhee Magu.
The nature of the disease for which he was consulted is not clear.
Gayoom was also brought to Male’ last Thursday, and consulted to doctors in ADK Hospital.
According to his family, Gayoom suffers from Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) – dizzy spells, due to which he experiences a lot of difficulties.
The family had beseeched the authorities to transfer Gayoom home, as his health had taken a turn for the worst. However, none of the authorities had paid heed to the request so far.
