Jumhooree Party (JP)’s secretary general Ahmed Sameer said the month of Ramadan will end with the end of oppression faced by the people of the country.
Speaking at VTV’s Fasmanzaru Program, Sameer pointed out the defeat faced by Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Razak at the election and said that Maldivians need to learn a lesson from that.
Sameer said the Malaysians are working to save themselves from the clutches of an oppressor and save the country, which would soon be witnessed in the Maldives as well.
Sameer said no matter how many developmental projects are carried out in the country, the people will never support a corrupt ruler. This lesson is crystal clear from the elections at Malaysia, he said.
“If using people’s money through corruption, citing unnecessary amounts for projects and pocketing the difference worked in favour of those in power to be elected for a second term, Malaysia’s prime minister would still be in power”, Sameer said.
Sameer said President Abdulla Yameen’s oppression will end with the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan.
Sameer also called on the people to make abundant dua to be saved from this oppression, because what President Yameen fears most is the people’s prayers.
Although Progressive Party of Maldives announced a halt in their events for the month of Ramadan, they continue to do sorcery to remain in power, Sameer alleged.
